![]() If it helps, I do not you Cloud and I am not planning on exporting any of my emails, I just want to clean up my email account and I hate the fact, that every single email I need to delete twice, once from the Inbox and once from the "Archived" folder. It just means that all emails on my mac are there twice. ![]() Can I just delete the Archived folder, without loosing all the mail that is in my Inbox and all my separate folders? (Currently there are around 3000 emails in the "Archived" folder, and I am guessing that more than 3/4 of them, I deleted from my Inbox, not knowing that they were also in the Archived folder.) Second and more important question: How can I prevent e-mails from being moved/appearing in the "Archived" folder. Also, when I move an e-mail from my Inbox to another folder, it also stays in the "Archived" folder. True to the name, this contains all messages, new and archived alike. Instead of a folder entitled 'All Archive' or Archive, like most other email providers, Gmail has a section entitled 'All Mail'. When I delete the e-mail from my Inbox and then from the "Deleted" folder, it still stays in the "Archived" folder. When your new messages appear to be archived, it's in fact a result of Gmail's handling of archived messages. I just realized, that every time I get an email, it does not only end up in my Inbox but also in the "Archived" folder.
